Dr. Karen Leitzel received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She has served as a family medicine physician in Northwest Indiana starting in 1998, caring for patients of all ages and families in every stage of life. Dr. Leitzel draws on broad experience in family medicine including urgent care, newborn and maternity care as well as tropical medicine, and now focuses on teaching. Her goal in teaching and in seeing patients is for both doctors and patients to grow in understanding of how to care for our health.
