Dr. Sangeeta Sehgal is a board certified Internist with the American Board of Internal Medicine who specializes in general and preventive medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from the combined undergraduate and medical school program at MBM Medical College in Indore, India, where she also finished her postgraduate radio diagnostic studies. In 1998 she completed her residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, in Chicago, Illinois. Since 1999, Dr. Sangeeta Sehgal worked as a hospitalist where she has been involved in the care of ICU/CCU patients, telemetry and medical/surgical patient care as well as ambulatory care in the surgical setting. She offers treatment for a range of conditions including thyroid issues, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, chronic pulmonary conditions and more. Her areas of expertise include rheumatology, the endocrine system, and problems relating to women’s health. Her passion for medicine drives her to take a particular interest in the treatment of chronic illnesses as well as dietary and lifestyle modifications. She enjoys working in medical education, where she uses her clinical expertise to advise and instruct medical students.
During her tenure as a hospitalist, she held a previous position with the Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago, Illinois (Formerly associated with the Catholic Health Partners). In 2005, she joined Portage Medical Group and has been working as an Internist here at Northwest Health-Porter since then. She is a mother of two and is married to Dr. Sandeep Sehgal who is an Interventional Cardiologist and who serves as the chairman for the department of cardiovascular medicine and director of the chest pain center and cardiac cath lab here at Northwest Health-Porter.
